Kimmba offers Spanish, Chinese and German bilingual playgroups for children aged from birth to throughout primary school years.
At Kimmba we aim to incorporate new languages into the playgroup program to meet demand from new families as required. Kimmba’s playgroups are designed for children and their carers; whether parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles or babysitters, to come together and enjoy new language learning experiences. Carers can choose to get involved or simply observe their children enjoying these engaging 2-hour sessions.
Kimmba bilingual playgroups also offer a great opportunity to meet people from a variety of cultural backgrounds where you can swap ideas about child-rearing in a relaxed small group setting.
Each playgroup has a local Qualified Kindergarten Bilingual Language teacher to guide children through a range of learning activities including songs, stories, show and tell, snack-time, games, out-door play, role-plays, fine and gross-motor coordination development and more.
Each session follows an age-appropriate pattern that children can quickly relate to. For instance, a kindergarten-aged session may start with free play followed by sound and character recognition games, after which their learning is put into practice with some guided creativity tasks. After such intensive learning and development, the children then get the chance to relax with a snack followed by some quiet floor play time. Music and dance time starts next with everyone being thoroughly engaged in the sound and movement activities created by their teachers. The session will end with the children sitting down to 'show and tell' and a story. There is plenty to engage children in every session.
