Kimmba offers Spanish, Chinese and German bilingual playgroups for children aged from birth to the early primary school years. At Kimmba we aim to incorporate new languages into the playgroup programme to meet constant demand from new families. Kimmba’s playgroups are designed for children and their carers, whether parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles or babysitters, to come together and enjoy new language learning experiences. Kimmba bilingual playgroups are a good chance to meet people from many cultural backgrounds where you can swap ideas about child-rearing in a relaxed small group setting.
Each playgroup has a leader or teacher to guide children through a range of learning activities including songs, stories, show and tell, snack-time, games, out-door play, role-plays, fine and gross-motor coordination development and more. Carers can choose to get involved or simply observe their children enjoying these engaging 2-hour sessions.
Each session follows an age-appropriate pattern that children can quickly relate to. For instance, a kindergarten-aged session may start with free play followed by sound and character recognition games, then put their learning into action with some guided creativity activities. After such intensive learning and development, children relax with a snack followed by some quiet floor puzzles. Music and dance time starts next and everyone engages thoroughly in the sound and movement activities created by their teachers. Finally the children sit down to show and tell and a story. There's plenty to engage children in every session.
