Welcome back everyone! We hope that everyone enjoyed the Easter break with family and friends. It’s amazing to see the children settled in and enjoying learning a new language. We have lots to inform families, so please read carefully.
Fundraising
First and foremost, we would like to remind everyone that we have booked for a fundraising opportunity at Bunnings Nunawading on the 9th of June 2008.
We are fortunate to secure a date with Bunnings to help raise in excess of $1500 for our language learning centre. This money will be used to buy more class material and tables/chairs for the children. Please sign yourself up, we only require two hours of your time! You will find the roster displayed on the notice board with the time slots to be filled for the day’s activities. This is a great opportunity to get to know other mums, dads, and grandparents.
With 80kg of sausages to sizzle, you can be guaranteed a day of action, fun and the lovely aroma of sizzling sausages and onions to last you the week!
If you are not available on that day, you can always help by donating something i.e.: cooking oil, onion, bread etc (the list is on the notice board too) to keep our cost down.
Thank you in anticipation for your enthusiasm and involvement! Any question, please contact Maria at 0402 799 262.
Register Interest for Primary Age Bilingual Learning Program
We are in the middle of planning for primary age children to join our language centre. Languages offered depend on the interests registered by you. At this point, Mandarin classes have already begun at term 1, we are looking at German and Spanish to start from term 3. If you are interested for your primary age child, please don’t hesitate to register via email.
Cantonese class
We would like to encourage more Cantonese speaking families to join our Cantonese group. It’s easy to neglect this dialect as we put more emphasis on learning Mandarin. It’s as important to learn a language as to learn the mother tongue. With this dialect, children can communicate easily to older generation i.e.: grandparents. We still have positions available; our Cantonese teacher is a native speaker; please contact us for more details.
Birthday party/End of term excursion, the final week of the term
We know it’s too early to speak about the end when we’ve just begun a new term, however, we would like to plan ahead for an excursion at the final week of the term. If you could suggest a place for parents and children to visit that will cost us next to nothing, please do let us know. Places such as your local park, or Museum ($1.00 per family if we make a group booking), etc.
Enrolment/fees for Term 3/4
At the last couple of weeks of Term 2, we would encourage families to pay for Term 3 and Term 4 fees to secure their child(ren)’s position in the language group. With your confirmation, it’s easier for us and the teachers to plan for the classes. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
