Primary Lessons (6-9) years old

Children participating in this group would have developed their second language skill throughout their early years. In our primary classes, we help your children to go on to the next step of language learning without pain. Many traditional after-school programs focus on rote learning and other old-fashioned methods of language learning. However at Kimmba, children learn through play. Our programs have had some excellent results in Mandarin learning for young children.

We offer two primary classes weekly, ie. 2 x 2-hours sessions; making a total of 4 hours of Mandarin learning per week, which differs to the traditional weekend school of 3 hours. In the writing class, children spend time learning how to write Chinese characters. It is not easy learning to write Chinese words so children get a lot of practice in this class to become skilled writers.

Our conversation class is aimed at making speaking Mandarin an easy task. We all know that the speaking and writing of any language comes from different parts of our brain, therefore we focus only on spoken Mandarin in these classes. The philosophy behind this course’s design is to stimulate children’s brains in innovative ways.

Annual Enrolment Fee

To secure your child’s place for 2010, it is advisable that parents pay the 2010 annual enrolment fee of $50 when enrolling their child.

Annual enrolment fee is payable per child per year for two continuous yearly enrolments. Thereafter this fee is exempted from 3rd year onwards should your child/ren continues their language learning at Kimmba Bilingual Program.

Please note: the annual enrolment fee is NOT refundable under any circulmstances. The Playgroup Victoria membership fee is payable directly to Playgroup Victoria www.playgroup.org.au.

Regular Rate and Late Payment charges

Applicable to those enrolled at first week of each term.

However, for those paying late (after week 1 of each term) there is a late payment fee of $5 charged per week per child to make a place available ASAP for your child/ren. Where a cheque is dishonoured a fee of $35 will be charged.

Holding Fee

There is a 4 week holiday holding fee of $50 per child per weekly session. This is to secure the placement when your child returns after holidays. If your child attends 2 weekly sessions and requires a placement holding fee for both, it would be $100 for the absent 4 weeks. If your child is going to be away for more than 4 weeks during any school term then the weekly holding fee is $12.5 per weekly session for the number of absent weeks as an ongoing holding fee to secure your child’s place upon return.

To obtain the early bird fee, it is advised that parents make the full payment before the end of the previous term. Dates and amounts are listed below:
